It increases reception, reduces dropped calls, provides better sound quality. It can be installed in cars, offices and homes when there is a dead space. Its extension cable is about 7 feet long. No sepcial adaptor is required. A velcro pad is provided to attach to the back of your cell phone. It may not provide as strong signal as those plug-in adaptor type of external antenna.
